TRANSPORT INSURANCE

In spite of our wide experience and expertise in ensuring safe worldwide transportation of yachts, damage to a yacht can honestly never be completely ruled out. Sevenstar therefore strongly advises you to buy a special All-Risk transport insurance because your yacht is usually not covered by your own standard yacht insurance.

In addition, it is our experience that yacht owners often struggle to timely get a transport insurance in place (with hopefully adequate cover). This is exactly why we include a tailor made All Risk insurance in all our quotations, giving you peace of mind that your yacht is safely insured.

Due to the volume of yachts we ship, combined with our excellent track record, we are able to offer highly competitive transport insurance premiums via the expert yacht divisions of the leading insurance brokers PANTAENIUS Versicherungsmakler GmbH and Nausch, Hogan & Murray, Inc.

These insurance intermediaries understand your requirements ensuring that adequate insurance is placed with reliable first class insurers such as for example the Allianz Group.

Very simple; once you have signed the Yacht Contract you will receive an insurance questionnaire which you are to complete and return to us where after we will forward it to the insurance brokers who in return will place the insurance and send you an insurance certificate.

HOW DOES IT WORK

What does it cover?

All-Risks Transport Insurance covers:

• Marine risks: physical loss of or damage to your yacht
• Physical loss of or damage to your yacht during any pre-shipment and/or post-shipment services (if agreed in the Yacht Contract)
• Contributions to general average
• Salvage, wreck and debris removal (contribution only)
• War, strike, riots and civil commotions risks

Optional Legal Liability Insurance.

A general liability insurance towards third parties is not included but can easily be arranged through the insurance brokers at little extra cost. You need to indicate in the insurance questionnaire if you want to buy such an insurance, in addition to the standard All Risk insurance.

DEDUCTIBLE

A deductible applies per voyage and is determined by the value of the yacht. The applicable deductibles can be found in the insurance questionnaire or via the insurance brokers directly.

In case you have any questions we will direct you to the insurance brokers who also deal with any problems or claims under the insurance policy.

In facilitating the placement of insurance, neither the Carrier nor Sevenstar Yacht Transport B.V. or any of their respective employees, servants and agents to any level (collectively “Carrier”) has acted as an insurance agent or broker but merely introduced parties. As such, the Carrier makes no representations or warranties as to coverages afforded under the policies nor assumes any liability whatsoever.
