Racing Yachts Logistics: Thinking one step ahead
This weekend Land Rover BAR and the other America’s Cup teams will have another show down in Portsmouth. The three day AC World Series event has valuable points on offer on their road to the completion for the “Ugly Mug”, the winner takes all, and oldest sports trophy in the world.
The teams horizon however stretches much further with the team working around the clock to get ready for the next step: six months training and testing on site in Bermuda.
To help them in their journey “To Bring The Cup Home”, our team at Sevenstar Racing Yacht Logistics has been working overtime to ensure the safe transport of the first shipment of the team base from Portsmouth to Bermuda . In line with Sevenstar’s goal to offer bespoke logistic solutions to racing teams, a special transport has been put in place providing a direct shipment on one of our Spliethoff S-type ships.
Says Sarah Sevenstar Land Rover, BAR account manager : “It was with a big relief and wonderful to see all the cargo safely, on schedule and according to plan be loaded onto the vessel in Southampton. The corporation with the logistics team at Land Rover BAR was excellent and together we made the impossible possible. I am looking forward to a quick breather before getting back to work on the next shipment.”
The next shipment in October sees even more precious cargo being transported directly to Bermuda, and with the third shipment in November Sevenstar Racing Yacht Logistics will have transported all the teams gear to get ready for the final trajectory towards the competition starting in May 2017.
